C-STARS goal is to establish a consortium of space researchers at UF, develop new platforms for research in space biomanufacturing and train the next generation of space scientists
Center for Science, Technology and Advanced Research in Space (C-STARS) will be a multidisciplinary research hub with the mission to support and serve the growing sector in space manufacturing as well as train the next generation of workers in space technologies, sciences, and exploration. C-STARS will bring together universities, industries, and the Florida Spaceport to transform access to the space environment and develop innovative, on-demand, in situ space manufacturing capabilities in biopharma, microelectronics, payload hardware solutions, and launch processing and recycling.

From manufacturing drugs to tissue engineering, the potential applications are vast.
